BIO:  Humind is a customer experience design and consultancy collective, aimed at helping organisations to discover, design, and deliver experiences with the human in mind. Rod Netterfield is Co-Founder and Director at Humind.  Rod has fifteen-plus years of experience working for various mid-tier and large global organisations, designing, and implementing customer experience strategies. His superpower is creating momentum behind the voice of the customer. As a versatile customer experience leader and consultant, he takes a commercial view on innovation whilst exploring practical ways to complement or extend strategies to bring in new sources of growth or revenue.

SESSION OVERVIEW:  This presentation provides an overview of Human Centered Design (HCD) methodologies and mindsets, and illustrate how it can be applied in a Higher Education context.  Through the presentation of several best practice case studies, learn about real world application across the end-to-end HCD framework, including:
     • How might we build empathy and understanding of all the students in our diverse communities,
     • How might we design places and spaces to meet student needs today and tomorrow, and
     • How might we deliver life changing events on limited budgets.

Following this presentation, we encourage attendees to come and participate in the Human Centered Design in action! session on Day 2 of SENCON for a hands-on opportunity with some HCD techniques.
